Above is some of the work that I particularly liked in the powerpoint. I think they have all successfully used texture within their work well as it really has imbued value and have used the textures to create different tones and lights. I think that for this task I have mainly looked at more shape than texture.
I really like the contrast of the white pen on the black paper. I think that it helps highlight the key areas of shape well.
I think that I should've drawn the eyes on these fish. At the time though I wasn't sure as I was focusing on the shape and thought the less detail the better. But now looking back I should have put them on.
I thought it would be quite a nice effect to create a stencil and thought it would give me a good opportunity to test out with different coloured papers and paints.
Like the black paper and the white pen I tested out what it would look like the other way around. Both are quite effective as there is a high contrast.
I thought I would make the most of the mono printing workshop and related it to this task and printed out lots of shells. I thought I would keep my design quite simple as I haven't properly used this process at all so didn't want it to be too complicated and didn't want to waste time cutting out the stencil and more learn about the process and getting used to making mono prints.
Like the jellyfish that I did before I experimented with paint splatters as I really like the effects it gives as the unknown lines that it comes out with.
