Studio Brief 1: Find a Seat

I really enjoyed today; watching the people of Leeds and my surroundings. Really found it interesting just observing my surroundings with people walking by getting along with their everyday lives. For each seat I took hundreds of photos I got very carried away so I've just put on the ones I liked best. Also I wrote down some questions and thoughts whilst I was sat down so I've written a few of them down on here.

The first 'seat' I was in was sat on the high up wall outside the town hall/ gallery area.

Why is he limping?

So many people must of walked up and down these stairs.

Didn't know I had this setting.

What an unusual way to sit
Surely that can't be comfortable?
Wonder how long it took him to grow his hair that long.

Not a very sociable couple.
Technology has gone crazy.
Wonder what they're both doing on their phones.

Think he noticed me.

Looks quite funny that a man in quite smart clothes is then contrasted by his bright green adventure time rucksack.

These are cool tights.
How can she wear high heels just on a casual day in town.
Her feet must be killing.

Use a bin.

They look way to young to be smoking.

The group gets bigger.

We spend so much of our lives queuing.

My next seat was in the gallery. In the section where you are able to create your own work. They've provided lots of exciting things to work with; plasticine, colourful tissue paper, paints, papers, crayons and more. This place really really excited me. For this one I couldn't keep in one seat so slightly moved around a little bit around the room to get a better look.

I thought he was a great little character.

So many crazy and exciting creations.
So colourful.

Makes me laugh
Reminds me of the teeth sweets.

Someone has dropped a head on the floor.
Looks like the heads been chopped off.
Reminds me of Wizard of Oz when the house lands of the witch and her feet are sticking out the end. Accept the opposite way round with the head sticking out.

Love the crazy colours.
Looks like a firework.

Who is this?
Looks a bit like scientists jacket.

Looks like a forest of pencils and paint brushes.

I think its so lovely that they've put in plant pots.

Little girl just made her own plasticine creation. I over heard her saying that she made "an old fashioned necklace" though then she went on to saying "nanny its gone wrong, I'm turning it into a doughnut".

This is one of my favourites.

They look so great on the shelves together.
Bright.
Vibrant.

Looks like a friendly monster.

Googly eyes?

My final seat was at the oldest pub in Leeds. Established in 1715. It was so full of character. Though it was incredibly packed inside so sat on the pub bench outside, which was still great and had some great really interesting people to watch. Because it was busy inside I did take a video and got some sound recordings so you can really get the feel to the place.

Such a nice light.
Light the warmth of the orange.

Narrow.

Why is there a rectangle missing in the wall?

Why is there an 'x' on the floor?
Something to do with pirates?

Whats the rush?

How did the floor get cracks in like that?

Why is he sat on his own?
Is he waiting for someone?

The man in the distance has massive shoulders.

Well this should be a video of the inside of the pub. And there should be 3 sound recordings. Need to try and figure out how to upload them properly.
