Simplifying Through Media

I think I am trying to get way to complicated with everything and need to find a way to simplify my process down. I found this video above which has used a combination of different textures in interesting ways. I think that the way they have made windows out of an envelope is really clever. But they have kept the animation very simple by just moving around the textures. So I think that I need to gather some different papers/textures and play with media and see what I can come out with.
