Contextual Reference

Nanami Cowdroy is one of my favourite illustrators and have liked her work for a very long time. I forgot all about her work until today when I came across her again on pinterest and her work has given me a very good idea for my printed pictures.

Follow Rosie Fairholm's board Nanami Cowdroy on Pinterest.

As you can see on quite a lot of her work the composition consists of one focus then lots of imagery coming from that one image. I especially like the idea of the image below of using a silhouette.

I was thinking that I could have the murder weapon and then aspects of the story coming from that weapon.

However, I'm not sure how this idea would work well onto tea towels I don't think that it would have the right ascetics. Though, after looking at Nanami Cowdroy images on Pinterest I think that this concept would work well with a cushion which was one of my ideas right at the beginning.
